Casa Vinocola Aldo Rainoldi

Lombardy, Italy

In the early 1920s, the Valtellina region in Northern Italy was plagued by poverty, leading to a significant wave of emigration. It was in this challenging environment that Aldo Rainoldi embarked on his journey as a wine merchant in 1925.

During the latter part of the 1950s, his son Giuseppe joined him. This period coincided with the expansion of wine markets, not only in Lombardy and Switzerland but also in the United States, Japan, and Northern Europe, thanks to a broader and more diverse range of wines.

By the late 1990s, after completing his studies in viticulture and oenology, Aldo Rainoldi’s grandson, also named Aldo Rainoldi, joined the family business to carry on the family’s winemaking tradition. Today, Rainoldi stands as one of the most renowned wineries in Valtellina.

The remarkable success of Rainoldi can be attributed to their unwavering commitment to quality and their wealth of experience, which positions them among the top producers of fine wines in Valtellina.

Rainoldi Winery caters to the most discerning and passionate wine enthusiasts with a wide selection that includes red wines such as Inferno, Sassella, Grumello, and Sforzato (or Sfursat), as well as exceptional white wines from the Alps. Their offerings are further complemented by Nebbiolo sparkling wines, available in both Rosé and Pas Dosé di Valtellina (Valtellina Zero-Dosage) varieties.
