Champagne Michel Gonet

Champagne, France

Gonet boasts a rich history in the Champagne region, dating back many centuries. Their family initially relocated from Beaujolais to Champagne during the 15th century, where they began their journey in the vineyards. Eventually, in the early 1800s, they founded their own Champagne house. Each succeeding generation played a pivotal role in establishing the strong foundations of their domaine. The most recent patriarch, Michel Gonet, significantly expanded the cellars in Avize and redefined their winemaking approach during the 1970s.

Their estate encompasses approximately 40 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Chardonnay grapes in the Côte des Blancs. These vineyards are situated in various villages, including Le Mesnil sur Oger, located a bit further south, Vindey on the slopes of Sézannais, and also near Troyes, on the Montgueux slopes.
