Today, this esteemed domaine spans across 10 hectares of land, predominantly dedicated to the production of red wines, with a notable focus on the renowned Côte de Nuits appellations, including the prestigious Echezeaux Grand Cru “Echezeaux Du Dessus,” the distinguished Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Les Damodes,” the charming Nuits-Saint-Georges Village “Les Hauts Poirets,” and the esteemed Côte de Nuits-Villages. Founded back in the 1950s, Domaine Jayer-Gilles has its origins in a union between two venerable winemaking families – one hailing from Vosne-Romanée and the other deeply rooted in Magny-lès-Villers. The domaine is nestled within the historical Gilles family residence, which boasts a rich heritage dating all the way back to 1886.
Within this domaine, a steadfast commitment to the vineyard and a profound reverence for the land take precedence. Here, the concept of terroir is revered, emphasizing the intricate interplay between soil, vines, and the surrounding environment.
