Az. Agr. Giovanni Manzone

Piedmont, Italy

The history of this family estate began back in 1925 when Giovanni Manzone purchased the ‘Ciabot del Preve,’ which translates to the priest’s house. Over the following years, they expanded their holdings by acquiring the prestigious vineyards known as ‘Castelletto’ and ‘Gramolere,’ considered two of the finest crus in Monforte d’Alba.

In 2005, Mauro Manzone joined his father Giovanni in overseeing the operations of the winery, and in 2012, Mirella, Giovanni’s daughter, also joined the team. Both Mauro and Mirella graduated from the renowned Institute of Viticulture and Enology in Alba.

The winery encompasses approximately 8 hectares of vineyards, situated at a high elevation of around 450 meters (about 1,500 feet) above sea level. The steep slopes and exceptional terroir naturally result in low grape yields. The family is dedicated to sustainable vineyard management, adhering to the principles of pure, natural, non-invasive agriculture. They have never used pesticides or chemical treatments in their vineyards.
