Vice Versa came into existence in 2003, thanks to its founder Patrice Breton, who had spent several years collaborating with the influential winemaker Paul Hobbs. This hands-on experience went far beyond just acquiring skills and methodologies. It led to valuable introductions and the establishment of genuine connections with some of the most respected figures in the wine industry.
Each vintage of Vice Versa has consistently received high praise from critics, and the key to this success lies in the selection of exceptional vineyards, a task personally undertaken by owner Patrice Breton. These vineyards represent a mix of up-and-coming elite locations and some of Napa Valley’s most historically significant sites.
Heading up the team is Philippe Melka, a veteran with extensive experience working with Napa’s most prestigious estates and vineyards since the early 1980s, including renowned names like Cheval Blanc, Petrus, Brand, and Dana Estates. Collaborating with him is Maayan Koschitzky, known for his work with Screaming Eagle. Together, they now cultivate some of Napa’s most revered and revered terroirs.
